Local restaurants and Portuguese atmosphere
Although not every Portuguese restaurant is geared toward celiac disease, there are certainly good options to be found in the region. Because we live here ourselves and have experience with celiac disease, we are happy to share our personal tips during your stay about restaurants and places where you can eat with peace of mind.
River beaches and swimming
In the summer, the river beaches (praias fluviais) are popular with both locals and visitors. The river beach of Arcos de Valdevez itself was even voted 6th in the top 10 most beautiful river beaches in Portugal. Around the quinta, you will find several of these lovely spots along the clean waters of the Vez and the Lima. Ideal for cooling off on hot days or sitting quietly by the water.
